If you intend to purchase the Brother HE 240 for your own at home personal sewing and embroidery use, you are likely to experience few or no cons. It is a trusty machine that is excellently priced and has many useful capabilities.

One factor to consider, however, is that the area it is able to embroider is only 4 inches by 4 inches. If you wish to be able to embroider a larger area, you may wish to consider a different Brother model, such as the Brother PE700II, which is capable of embroidering an area of 5 inches by 7 inches.

One thing to note, however, is that the Brother PE700II is not a dual use machine. It is for embroidery only. If you are specifically looking for a dual use sewing and embroidery machine for your home, you will find that the Brother HE 240’s 4 inch by 4 inch embroidery space is fairly standard.
